MISSION & OBJECTIVES
we understand that public sector labour relations have a very human element, involving
complex and multi-layered relationships between the stakeholders.
To unite all Greater Victoria area cities and municipalities into one unified collective
bargaining agency for the purpose of:
- Representing taxpayers' economic interests;
- Providing member agencies with mutual aid and assistance in developing strategic
collective bargaining programs;
- Providing arm's length labour relations services to member agencies;
- Providing a venue for elected officials to voice their concerns over labour relations
legislation, policies and positions without fear of reprisal by special interest
groups; and,
- Developing good will and cooperation among member agencies to further the goals
of the GVLRA.
